On the first day of Christmas....(our December)

Our December was great. Was busy and went by really fast, but we managed to survive and keep up.

First in the series of concerts for December was Es Choir concert. Shes the 8th grade choir and then the Show Choir. She loves to sing. She is an alto like her mama:). Her and I sing together all the time. It makes us happy! One of my favorite things is hearing Ev sing. She sings all the time and everywhere. In the shower(me too) as shes getting ready. As shes going to bed. Our room is right above hers and I can hear her singing away. Always make me smile.
As festive as Kirk gets.

Next, ATs band concert. He was so nervous. His first concert ever. He did great!! Such a stud! Hes really loving/enjoying playing the sax. Beks IB plays sax as well.

Last was the Elementary kids Christmas songs concert.

Asked R if she wanted to wear a pretty dress to school, she said... "umm mom, that would be embarrassing." My bad for asking I guess.

Annual Christmas Eve movie and dinner(a week early)

Stef and G went to Vegas for Christmas, so we did our Christmas Eve festivities early. What the??? and have to think of something else to do on Christmas Eve? Great!!! JK. It was super fun as always. Movie of choice was the new Muppet Movie. OMG....2 thumbs waaaaaaay up! Loved this movie. Grew up watching the muppets and this movie made me sooooo happy. Made us all happy. Even the big tough manly men liked it. First 5 mins into movie, they break into song and dance and I could not have been happier. Had a big smile on my face, and maybe a tear in my eye. Looked at Stef and Net and Bek and they were the same way. Ahhh....muppets! We saw 4 movies from this one to the end of Christmas break. We saw Muppet Movie, We Bought A Zoo. MI4 and Sherlock Holmes. Loved all of them!!!

We had Bek and Gavs fam staying with us for Christmas again. Yay! So fun!

ES and R didnt have anyone bunking with them.
AT had some roommates. Playing their DSs waiting for everyone to wake up.
E gave her room to Bek and Gav, so teenagers camped in the family room. Took turns on the couch. AT not pictured(he wasnt decent). :)
I got a RSL scarf in my stocking and Kirk got a ticket package to RSL games. For 2 of course:)

New Years Eve celebration. Spent the night with the best people. Had so much fun! The adults went to an early movie(MI4) and dinner then went home and huing with kids for the rest of 2011. Had fun hangin out playing games, ddr/just dance 3 and being loud and eating yummy stuff!

Kirk spent some of the night finishing up preping his Elders Quorum lesson and falling asleep. Snapped pic just after he woke up. He got his second wind after this.
Net and Joe are the master game players and brought some cool/fun games to play. The 3 of us were in the zone.

Thanksgiving was great! Nat and Andy came down from Seattle and we had everyone over to our house for Tday dinner. No pics. Too busy making yummy food!

Family Trip California/Disneyland style!!!!

Nov 13-20, 2011

We left on Sunday and our first stop.....St. George. We stopped here for lunch and Kirk and I wanted to find and show our kids where we stayed the second night after we were married. We found it! It was tradition in Kirks family for the kids when they got married to stay at the Seven Wives Inn. Its the old house where Brigham Young lived with at least 7 off his wives. Someone turned it into a Bed and Breakfast. We went to California for our almost 2 week honeymoon and stayed here on our way down. Its a cute, fun little place. We hadnt been back for almost 15 years, so it was fun to see and show the kiddies. We stayed in the Julia room.

Also Stopped by the St. George temple. Very pretty. Went to this temple after we were married and were the witness couple for the first time.
Had Nativity up already.

So after St. George, we drove to Vegas where my dad and Denise live and spent the night there. It was great to break up the drive and spend sometime with Gma and Gpa Omer. They treated us well.

We got up the next morning(Monday) and headed for California. Hollywood to be exact. Hollywood was cool/crazy. I liked it. Kirk and I had more fun than kids looking at all the stars. Kids got excited about some. First one we saw was Tom.

Got some lunch, then went star searching. While we were snapping pics of MJs star, he showed up....in the flesh. Someone elses flesh of course. This guy did a really good impression. Abe was sure to keep a manly distance.

There were characters all over. This was fun to watch.

In Hollywood, so you have to find the Hwood sign. I drove us around trying to find it. It was getting dark. I got us a liitle lost. We stopped at Universal Studios(on accident) and asked how to get there. We found it. Was as close as we could get. Kirk and kids were good sports humoring me to find it. Drove to Anaheim after to our hotel.

Day 3- first day at DL and the CAP. We were all sooooo excited! Kids could hardly wait. Our hotel was only a mile from DL so we thought we'd trying walking the first day. Walking there great, Walking back after a full day of walking....not so much. At least for the kids. I ended up carrying R back most of the way. We took the ART the next two days.

Week before we got there, they had put up all their Christmas Decore. One of the reason we went when we did. We wanted to see all the pretty/cool things. They really out do themselves.
So magical...and bright looking into that Cali sun.

First ride.....Star Tours. Loved it! R was the Rebel Spy.
Love Buzz. This was a fun ride too.
Cars....one of my favs. So ES and I were in a car. She was in control. We saw a sign that said dont pump the car in front of you. That made ES nervous so I took over the gas. She steered(we were all over the place. it was hilarious). I of course, had to get pics. Foot still on gas. Not paying attention and we go slamming into Kirk and R! Hard! Really hard. Guess I didnt hear ES yelling for me to stop. Kirk looks around like what the heck! All I can do, after I made a very ugly noise when we crashed, is laugh. A lady we passed who saw the whole thing was laughing out loud too.

ES and I loved to stop and watch these things. ES always had a huge smile on her face. Loved seeing that smile.
To save on money, we went back to hotel to eat lunch. R waiting for the ART.
Getting back from lunch. Ready to hit it again. R wouldnt hold our hands. She had to hold our wrists. Like she was leading us around. If we tried to hold her hand, she would just move it to our wrist. No words said. Love her.
Day 4- Broke up our DL days and headed to San Diego and Coronado. Wanted to see the Temple and show our kids where we stayed the first week of our honeymoon.

First....my BFF Tracy told us about this cool spot in La Jolla. A cool beach spot where seals like to hang out. We were so glad to know about this. It was very cool. Thanks Trace. Love you! :) There were seals everywhere.

After La Jolla, we went to Coronado. This is the big famous Hotel that is there. This is not where stayed on honeymoon(I wish).
We stayed at this condo right across the street from it. Still very nice. The Coronado Beach Resort. We got to use some of the amenities of the cool hotel. Like their pool and beach access. Looked the same as 15 years ago. Even the old couple in the pic with us. Ha. JK! I like that you can see R running in the pic. She sure wasnt there 15 years ago:)

Day 5 with the WATTS!!! YAY!!! Back at DL and the CAP for some g double o d good times!!!

This day was filled with lots of pics with characters. E and AT and Kirk not into it. ES, R and I into it and Lynette so happy!!!

Went on the Haunted Mansion ride twice. We love that ride. It was all decked out in Nightmare Before Christmas(love that movie). It was soooo awesome! Went and met jack after.
Kirk had his eye on getting a piece of this meat since day one there. Just got one to share. NO WAY he was eating all that himself. I did not partake. Meat on a bone= EW!!!

Headed over to the CAP(california adventure park). Found us the Chip-n-dales....I mean Chip and Dale. They were fun!
OMG!!! ESs favorite character is Donald Duck. Our goal that day was finding him for her so she could get her pic with him. 10 mins in the CAP and Lynette spots him, grabs ESs hand and starts running to get in line. R and I follow right behind(btw....they dont like you running). You have to hurry cause they dont stay for very long. We made it and ES got her pic and she was sooooooooo happy! Look at that happy face!!!!! I had a little tear in my eye watching that.

On way to The Toy Story ride. Fun ride. Even Joe and Kirk liked it(cause you get to shot things) Found this fun thing .

California Screamin=awesome!!!! So fun! Went on this 3 times!! Best part of ride right here where they shoot you off!
Tower of Terror. Prob my/our fav ride of both parks! I was sooooo scared(had my brave face on of course) at first. ES was pretty scared too, but we braved it and are soooo glad we did! SO scary/fun!
ES was holding my hand so tight. Didnt know she was that strong. For me it was either laugh or cry, so I did both. Was laughing so hard I cried. Couldnt help it. Went on this ride 3 times too!!! By the second time, kids figured out where the camera was and did funny things...like the three people in this pic. Haha!

So pretty. At the end, they make it snow. It was so amazing. Really!!! Lynette and I cried. of course we did. We are/love cheese. Our hubbies just humor us. Good hubbies!

After show, we had to hurry to make our dinner appt at Goofys Kitchen. We hit the tram they have at DL and it took us to a different part of DL. That palce is huge! We splurged on this dinner. Totally worth it! Was a buffet and the food was fantastic! AT is always flashing the gang signs ;)

Oh, pretty Snow White. She was very lovely and so Princess like. She heard that AT didnt like Princesses, so she went over and flirted with him and played with his tail and embarrassed him. Was pretty funny.

I danced with the Chip-n-dales. Ha! Music game on and they came over to our table and started dancing, so some of the girls and I joined them.

Day 6- Last day(sad) More good times with the Watts! Yay! Started at the CAP. Guess AT gets his gang sign throwin from me. :)

R and Mads got picked for Jedi Training. It was too adorable. Both got to fight Darth Maul!

After Jedi training, we went back to CAP for dinner. We ordered dinner with the World of Color show. So fun! We ate dinner and then went and got our place for world of color.

Prob one of my fav times just sitting here with everyone having fun and waiting. We arent a quite bunch thats fo sho!!

After the show, which was amazing!!! So glad we saw that. And yes....I cried. After, we all went on the Little Mermaid ride and then said bye to the Watts(who were flying home the next day. Luckies! Hate them. Jk!) and parted ways!

We went back to DL to hit a few more rides and could not leave without having the most amazing treat ever......whipped pineapple!!! SO good, but made us so cold! Will be getting that every time we go there.
Got up the next morning(saturday) and headed back to Vegas to stay at my dads again Sat night. My Dad always has a flag hanging. Hes proud to be an America. Me too!

We were home by early evening Sunday. We had such a great trip! SO fun to do something like that with our kids. Who, are the most amazing, completely awesome kids in the world!!!! And who we love very much!!!

Field trippin it!

I promise my kids to go on one field trip with each of them a year. ES wanted me to go to the Living Planet Aquarium with her. I love how excited my kids get when I walk in their classroom to go with them. The night before, ES tells me she told her friend(who is a Denver Broncos fan) that I am a fan too and I have a Broncos shirt and that he wanted me to wear my shirt on the field trip and he would wear his. Haha! I did and he did. Forgot to get a pic of us.

Coach who? Me?

I was released from being 2nd Counselor in the Stake Young Women Presidency a few months ago(sad day. I cried). My new calling(they didnt waste any time. was still crying. jk) is the Stake Young Women Sports Director/Coach. For real YAY! I was excited! Found out that vball time was just about to start, so had to scramble to get that together. Thank goodness for assistants! It was crazy at first and busy, but I loved it! Best/fav part was being and playing with the girls! I love them all so! We made it to...having brain freeze..... the last game before the final game(whatever that is called)! Had a lot of first timers too. I was very proud(the good proud) of my girls!

When we made it to playoffs, my assistant and I went and bought matching socks for our team so we could be unified and one! The girls loved it!

Our 13 year olds goings on....

E has been playing with Murray vball since grade 5. Shes in 8th now. This was by far the best team she was on, with BY FAR the best coach! Loved her coach! Was a player herself and college coach, etc. So great! E learned a lot from her. Es team came in first in the tourney! They were the champs! Yay! After, I was thanking the coach and she takes me aside and said how great of a player E is and how she is a "coaches player." Said she would listen to what she was told and apply the things she was being taught. Said she really appreciated that. What can I say? Just what I always have.....E is amazing!

E and her cousin(in pic) were in the play at her Jr High. Beauty and the Beast. She was the candle seller lady person. She also had a solo we didnt know about, a duet AND a little dance part in a scene we didnt know about either. Those were very pleasant surprises! The kids did a great job! E loves performing. She goes out for all the plays. She plays vball. She plays the piano. She plays the viola in the school orchestra. She sings in the school choir and their Encore choir and has a little part time job as well as being the Beehive pres at church. Again....amazing and BUSY!

Bewitching October...

Went to visit my Gparents on Conference Sunday between sessions. They live in Grantsville(about an hour west). I love visiting my Gparents. I dont get out there as much as I would like, Kirk and kids even less. Need to change that. These are my moms parents. They were high school sweethearts. Were married for 21 years. Got divorced when my parents married. Were divorced for 25years, then a year(I think) after my mom died, they remarried. Pretty crazy! I never knew my Grandpa growing up. Always been super close to my Gma. Shes so funny, cute and small. And fietsy! Dont let her size fool you!

They have an amazing orchard/garden in their backyard

So many fruit trees, so we went to work doin some pickin. Good times! Peach trees were extra full this season. Kids first time picking fruit trees.

AT is more than happy letting the ladies do all the work. Yah.....that didnt last long

Got a great surprise when we got there....my Uncle Keith was there! Yay! Had not seen him since forever! Hes the baby. 7 years younger than my mom. Love my Gmas gardening hat. Cant garden without it.

AT had some sort of reaction to something while picking. His poor neck got all red and buffy and itchy. Still not sure what it was. Just eventually went away. Weird
On our way home, we stopped to see the Saltair. In Kirks whole almost 40 years of life living in Utah, he had never been. Its right off the Great Salt Lake. Some parts of the GSL are so pretty, others....not so much.

I saw Evanesence(sp?) in concert here a few years ago.

Apparently, this was a pretty happenin place in its day.

AT and IB earned their scouting Arrow of Light award. Its a pretty big deal in the scouting world. They are officially no longer Scouts. They are with the older boys now as Boy Scouts. Arrow of Light visual aid

Tis the season.....

My friend Mel arranged a fun little witches night out. Minus the 2 in the back. Mel made them sit there because they refused to dress up. Ha! It was fun! You are never too old to get dressed up...like a witch...for no reason, other than its October and Halloween. When in Rome....

Cause this is Thriller...

Tracy invited me and my girls(just one, wish all 3) to go see Thriller! We were so excited! Saw it last year and loved it! ES was the lucky one who got to go this year. Had to warn her that there were scary zombies walking around, but that they were just people dressed up. She was very brave! As always, the show was great! Wish I could dance like that.

We went and had yummy pizza at The Pie by the theatre. Oh man....so good!

Could not get ES to relax her eyes(so pretty) a bit or Ry to open hers.

Oh....there ya go. Mission accomplished....sort of....
Before the show, while everyones showing up, they have some of the dancers dressed up and walking around scaring people. And...they do a really good job. You can hear people screaming and crying. Last year I wasnt warned about the zombies and while I was waiting for my friend, i felt and heard breathing next to me. Turned and found a zombie had snuck up on me. Yah, I was one of the people you heard screaming then. I think I even startled the zombie a little. ha!

ES was okay to get a pic taken as long as I was in between her and the zombie. I think her "no, Im not scared" brave face is great! (that goes for both of us)

ES DID NOT want to get close to this guy. After the pic, she was outta there!

Had to have a Jason mask. ES totally knew who Jason was. No idea how she knows that. I am really not a fan of masks at all. I think it stems from being allowed to watch scary movies where people in masks run around killing people at a very young(too young) age. Thats just silly though. Prob not that ;)

Jason vs.....yard work?

AT was all over this mask after ES brought it home. Decided to wear it while he mowed the lawn. Hilarious! Asked him after how it was mowing with a mask on, he said it was HOT! His face was all red and sweaty. Jason needs to adjust his Ipod. Gotta have the tunes while you mow.

Lucky #7!

Thank heaven for little girls that turn seven!!! Cannot believe my baby is 7! Every time we've had a 7 year old, we've had a 5 or 3 or 1 year old also. Its different having your youngest get older and no one younger to take care of. Different and a little sad. We love this girl soooooo much! She is fun and silly and CRAZY and smart and funny and independent and sweet and Beautiful! I know Heavenly Father has a sense of humor because he sent us her. So different from our other 3. Shes a mini me. Yay!

She got a dip-n-dots maker for her bday. We had fun the next day making some. It worked really well and they taste good!

Has his own cheering squad. Yay for sisters!!!

Trunk or treating

Had our Ward/neighborhood trunk or treat. Kids always look forward to this. We live by such great people! Makes for a good time.

Viva Las Vegas

Took a little trip down to Las Vegas to visit my dad and Denise. Denise has been really sick and wanted us to go down. It was a quick trip. We left early Friday morning and got back late Saturday night. My dad flew Natalie down. It was really great to all be together. A 6 hour car drive isnt bad at all.

Hit the pool first thing. Weather was nice and warm, but the water was oh so cold!!

Dad put us all up in a hotel. It was about 2 blocks from the strip. You could see the strip from mine and my girls room. Hotel was fun. Gav and I took the kiddies to the pool for a bit. Pool was outside. Fun to swim at night.

Saturday morning Dad took us all to breakfast at the Original Pancake House! Best food ever!!!! We had a great time just being with my dad!

Oh Mr. Jac-o-lanturn

I actually remembered pumpkins this year. Forgot/didnt get around to it last year. Im lame. Remembered a head of time this year to buy them. ES helped me pick them out. Its nice kids are getting older and Kirk and I dont have 4 pumpkins to carve. Kids did most of the carving themselves. They did great!!!Still need help with the stem. Stem is trickyI hate gross slimy things. I dont like to touch raw meat or anything. Im OCD about getting all the seeds and gunk out, so thats my job.
In my head Im screaming "GET OFF GET OFF!!!"

R did a great job with hers. Kirk helped her draw it on(Angela = zero artistic talent) and she carved it. She was all over it!

Halloween!

Trick or treating weather could not have been more perf!!! Sandal weather according to ES and R. Dad came home and made them change jic. AT was a SWAT guy. He bought that air soft gun with his own money for way more than I wanted him to pay(ridonculous!), so Im glad he got some more use of it. I had bought R a different costume, and Halloween morning before going to school she wanted to be a "China person" instead. From the waist up at least.

Canada road trip(post #2)

First post will have all the details and explanations. This post just mostly Kriss's pics.

Kieffer started out the trip with an awesome hair do. I think when we crossed into Montana she stuck her head out the window and yelled.

CRT(canada road trip) post 1

We are off on the road to Canada! Yay! Good times. Finally posting it! My friend Melanie was asked to speak at an EFY in Calgary, at the University of Calgary. She asked if I wanted to make it an awesome road trip and go with her....umm.....yes! Im always down for a road trip! We left the 31st of July and got home on the 5th of August. Trip started our with her picking me up at almost midnight to go sleep at her house. We were getting up at 430(yes am) to head to Idaho to pick up her friend Kriss(who is awesome) who was road trippin with us. SMF!! We met Kriss, hit sacrament meeting(it was the sabbath) then headed out. Or should I say oot. Ha! Had a very lovely time in Canada. It is a great/beautiful country up there! Great people too! Love our neighbors to the north!!

In Idaho. Had to stop at the Stinker store of course.
Potty break somewhere in Montana. Kriss with her arm up in the car. I have no idea how she fit her whole 6 foot self in half that back seat. She didnt complain once.
Made it to Glacier National Park. Went this way on our way to border. Still on the US side. This is such a beautiful place!

Looking pretty good for going on 3 1/2 hours of sleep and driving for 10 plus hours.

Getting up higher where it was getting colder and snowier. Brrrrr!

Dont be deceived, they really were that close. Was very cool. Their horns were amazing!

Left Glacier and hurried to the border before it closed. We had less than an hour. Kriss btw, had just told us she left her passport at home. What the!? We just hoped the Canadian guards would be kind and understanding and not have anything against Americans. :) They were great UNTIL Kriss over shared and told them she was born in Canada, but gave up her citizenship when she was 14. Yah....they didnt like hearing that. Gave her a hard time(in a friendly way), made her go in and talk to someone and had to tell them she would get duel citizenship and then we were good to go. We made it to Canada!!! Got to our little bed and breakfast called the Shalom(sp? and yes they were Jewish) B&B pretty late and went right to bed.

And good morning to you Mildred. Went to get something out of my suitcase and found a little stowaway. She came along with Mel and spent the rest of the trip with me.

Where I was shunned....I mean slept. Ha. Kriss has a bad back and Mel, dont remember her ailment, but I offered to take the futon.
Had the yummiest breakfast made for us by the owner. Her name was Jenny. Such a sweet genuinely nice lady.
Our new Canadian friends Jenny and Ivy. Ivy was adorable. We actually saw Ivy a little later in the day when we went to Waterton National Park. She was working there.
Kriss went to go get some money and came back with these Hollihock petals for us ladies to wear. You split the bottom and its sticky and will stick to your ears. Fun!
Jenny and her husband. The are Dutch and I dont remember his name. Loved them so much! Such a cute couple and very religious. We all shared some of our beliefs. It was great. We stayed so long there talking to them, we didnt get to spend as much time in Waterton. Totes worth it!
What the B&B looked like. Next time Im in Cardston, I know where Im staying. Shalom
After the Shalom, we went to the Cardston Alberta Temple. One of the first temples built. I loved this temple. One of my favorites now. Felt the spirit so strong almost immediately when we got there. It was closed so we couldnt go in, but we got to walk around the grounds. Soooo beautiful and different! There is no steeple or Angel Moroni on this temple.

We forgot we still had our Hollihocks on :)

After the temple, we only had a few hours til we had to be in Calgary at the airport picking up another friend of Mels that was speaking at EFY too. We were told we had to go to Waterton National Park, so we hit it real quick. Wish we would have had more time there. We went on a very little stroll up to some waterfall. It was very beautiful! Lots of deer roaming around and we saw a brown bear.
Still forgot we had hollihocks on. We were wondering why people we staring at us. I "lost" mine shortly after this pic was taken. ;)

Ate lunch it Waterton and went on a very fun bike ride. Prob the funnest/funniest of my life, then left and headed to Calgary. If I remember right, it was about a three hour drive.

Got to Calgary. Got Misty from the airport. Got checked into our hotel on campus called Hotel Alma. It was a pretty sweet hotel. Brand new. We were all starving, so we freshened up and headed to downtown Calgary. We had a nice dinner then headed to the Calgary Tower. Its a lot like the Space Needle in Seattle. We had tickets to go to the top and look out and where I cried like a little girl.

Waiting to go up. I had throw up feelings already and we were still on ground level. I have this thing with heights. Being in an airplane, no prob. In a building or on a mountain or cruise ship where there is a ledge or a cliff or GLASS FLOORS, not so much!!!
Kriss took my hands and was trying to talk me on to the glass. I took a step with one foot and just couldnt with the other, so it looked like I was doing the splits. Yah, the talk didnt work.
My toes were trying to grab the glass.

This is more like it. Crawling and looking over. Still scary, but didnt feel like I was falling to my death. Misty was so nice and got down on the floor with me. Whether or not she was scared herself I dont know.

Next day after EFY, we headed to Banff. Were told we needed to got there too. Such a fun drive. I laughed so hard. I love laughing! We took the scenic way. Was a bit longer, but got to see wildlife. We saw a black bear. Banff is now one of my fav places.

Our destination was Lake Louise. Can I just say WOW!!! Pictures dont do it justice, but it took my breath away it was so pretty!

We went canoeing on Lake Louise! Would have been fun to get down on that Gondola, but too much money. We canoed it. Now, I have canoed before, but only with Kirk and he drives. I have this thing where I get totally paranoid on a canoe. No idea why. 1- I/we have life jackets on and B- I am a good swimmer, so whats the prob? The prob is, Misty had never been on a canoe before, so I had to drive. Way to much pressure for me. I felt responsible for her safety. Once I relaxed, we had fun and I am actually a good canoe driver. :)

September morn....

After Kirk living here his whole life and me for the past 18 years, we decided to take our kids to the Bingham Copper Mine. Kirks gpa worked there for a long time. It was cool. You can see this mine from space. Even though we learned a lot, going one time with do just fine. :)

In 5th grade, they get to start band or orchestra. AT's instrument of choice was the saxophone. His buddies came over one Sunday with their instruments and had a little jamming session. They played...in our backyard.....all afternoon. Im sure the whole neighborhood heard, but no one complained. It was fun to hear them blow away. I love listening to AT learn how to play. he just learned Mary had a little Lamb.

Soccer time!

Had a little break from her Summer Select comp team, now time for regular season play. She was so excited! She loves soccer! Not just saying this as a proud parent, but she really is a little star on her team. Shes great about it too. Helps the girls who arent as experienced as her know what to do and where to be. Took her to get new shin guards the other day and she told me shes going to be a professional soccer player one day. Okay by me!! We love watching her play! Go Blue Lightning!!!

To school for cool

First day of back to school is always a bitter sweet day. Another year is here. E in grade 8, AT grade 5, ES grade 4 and R(drum roll) grade 1! Cant believe my baby is in school all day. Made me sad to think about. Been enjoying the quite time though. Sometimes I miss having a buddy at home with me. Sometimes....:)The walking elementary gang. They got a brand spanking new school this year. They were so excited!!!!
New school has lockers even.
Getting everything in. Said she didnt need my help. Said, Moooooom no!

ES has ATs teacher from last year. She thought that was pretty cool.

Oh say can you see...

Our Fourth of July was filled with lots and lots. We saw fireworks three different times(Kirk and E only 2). Growing up in the military an Army brat, I love this holiday. I keep my flag up all month long.

Our 4th started on Friday with fireworks with Kieffer. She made us a yummy dinner, then we went and picnic'd and waited for the works to start.

Girls camp

Little did I know this would be my last girls camp as a/inthe Stake YWS presidency. This makes me so sad. One of my fav things about YWs is girls camp. Especially now that E goes. I wasnt able to stay up there over night at all this year, so I drove up everyday and back down every night. Took ES and R with me. Here is am with all the Stake and Stake youth leaders. Great bunch of gals. We have a good time together. Waiting for skits to start. R was all over it.

Better late than never....

E's 13th birthday fell right on Easter this year and we didnt really get to have a party for just her. So...about 2 1/2 months later(yikes), we did it. The Barrowes have a time share condo up in Park City every summer, so this summer for our families turn, we did a girls night and E invited some friends and we celebrated with swimming and pizza and lots of unhealthy stuff. Yuck!

A birthday/24th of July w/e celebration

ES turned 9 on July 22! Yay!! Love how excited our kids get for their birthdays. Thats so how I am! One of the main things on her bday list was Legos. She loves legos. Here is everyone helping/playing with her new legos. She wanted to go to Seven Peaks SL, aka...Raging Waters for her bday celebration. Slacked on getting more pics. The day was all about her.

Took my friend Kieffer to the RSL game with me. Love going to RSL games! Loved going with Kieffer. She makes my laugh so hard! Good times and good game! They won 4-0! Got some joker behind us doing bunny ears. HA! All good! Kief and I got in on someones self pic in front of us. We did it on purpose. It was funny!

Didnt see any going to their cars yet, but even better than that, we saw where they hang out after the games and got in(thanks to Kief) and TOTALLY mingled with the players! I was awesome! We prob shouldnt have been there, but no one kicked us out and we got autographs on our jerseys! I was wearing Kirks and Kief mine, so we both have signed jerseys now!! :)

Took the kiddies down to Temple Square and on a tour of the Conference Center. We live here and have never done a tour. It was great! No matter how many times Ive been here, it always amazes me how massive it is. Getting a close up was fun! Be fun to sing in the Mo Tab and sit in those seats one day. Maybe....

We told R to stay and be in the fam in the mirror pic, but as you can see, she didnt listen. Surprise....not.

June...schools out for the summer!

June 12th, AT's 11th bday!! It was a good day, full of fun stuff. First him and Kirk went to a movie. No girls allowed. They saw the new Xmen movie. Both loved it. (anybodies guess as to what the guy is doing in the background.)Next...open presents. Here is what poor AT has to live and deal with everyday. Plus me too!
He opened all his present with his eyes closed. Wanted to guess what they were.

Best for last....we went to the RMR(rocky mountain raceway) It was so much fun!!!! Totally different crowd there. People watching was great! It was seriously a blast and loud!

Summer FUSBALL!!!!

ES tired out for her soccer league Summer Select team. Her first soccer try out ever and her first official comp team. She was so excited! They had 3 or 4(cant remember) tourneys over the summer. For most of the summer she had 4 soccer practices a week. It was crazy/fun!! There were 2 teams(she played for both) for her age group and she was one of the youngest. It was so great to hear the coaches say awesome things about how impressed they were with what a great soccer player she is for being the youngest and for only playing officially for one full season and what a great soccer player she is going to be. Her speed and ability to handle the ball was what impressed them most. What parent wouldnt like to here that right!?

We like to run and run.....

Started May off with a nice little run. :) My friend Susan and I ran the Provo Half Marathon. I thought I had signed up for the Provo Canyon half that I have run before and loved, but no. I signed up for the wrong one. Didnt realize this til a few days before and handt been pushing my training since I THOUGHT I was going to be running DOWN A CANYON!!! Blast!!! Oh well....was still a nice half and I didnt do too bad. I like the halfs. Think I will stick with those.

Runnin w/RSL!

With ES and R's soccer league, they got 2 free tickets to an RSL game. We had to buy 2 for Kirk and I. 4 for the price of 2...SWEET!!! The kid players got to line up and run out on to the field with the players for the National for the National Anthem and all that. It was cool!! Parents were not allowed on the field(dang it), but I was not about to leave my precious girls by themselves so I waited with them. Trying to get a pic....

ES still waiting. It was quite chilly. No R in this pic. She had opted out by then. Bummer. Batteries ran out before I could video ES running out on the field. Frick! It was so fun/cool to see ES run out. She was so excited!!

Kindergarten Grad!

R with her teacher, Mrs. Johnson. R liked her. I did too. R knew and improved so much. Fav kgarten quote of R's...."R, hows was school today? "Horrible! The longest/most horrible day of my life." "Why?" "Because my teacher tells me what to do all the time." I had to remind her everyday as she was leaving that she wasnt in charge. Ha! Cant believe our babys going to be a first grader. ABFCT(annual Barrowes family camping trip)

Every Memorial Day weekend we do the ABFCT. Our kids always look so forward to this. Me....its fun, but after camping for 3night/4 days, I am done. It is good times though with good people. Our van was so jammed packed with stuff, our kids had to hold things on their laps. Trying to get everyone.....

So each couple is in charge of a meal and they have a group of kids(preferably same age kids) assigned to them to help prepare and clean up. This is R "helping". I had to watch and make sure she helped. She has a way of disappearing. Shes sneaky.

ES's fav game was checkers. I think we played it 10 million times! I let her win...I mean, she won most of those. :)
AT is so good at jumping off of things and landing perfectly. Kirk tried to get a shot..yah, not so much. I think AT would be great at street running, aka..whatever the French word is..
Preparing the breakfast Kirk and I were in charge of. We had to do most of it the night before. We had good/hostile(IB with the knife) helpers.
My job was the sausage. I can do that....

April= Easter, Bunnies and Birthdays!

Our good friends the Watts and new friends the Davies, invited us to their Easter egg hunt party. Yay!! E had to work, so we went without her. It was good times! Good way to start off our Easter weekend.

Shes 13!!!!!

Easter and Es bday fell on the same day this year. Kind of lame, but what do you do? Even though Easter is important, we were sure to make Evs day just as important. It was a big one! Our baby turned 13!!! What?! Cant believe she is 13! Im too young! Haha! I guess when you get married at19(kirk likes me to say 20) and have your first baby at 21, thats what happens eh? E is a wonderful girl! Total self motivator and over achiever! I am so thankful for her and I tell her that all the time. I do not know what I would do with out her. She is fabulous and we love her so much!!!! This was going to be her bday present, but we decided we are getting her a cell phone instead. She is so okay with that! R made her the little egg. :)
She has been wanting to go on facebook since she turned 12. We wouldnt let her. Made her wait til she was 13. So when she turned 13, she was all over it.

These 2 are 3 weeks apart. Celebrating #13! Crazy!!! AJ is older.
So....I am 30 something years old and I didnt know how to braid right. Im a lefty and I was doing it backwards or something. So stef set me straight. Took me while to get it. My brain takes a while to switch gears(mad cow). JC and AJ want to learn too. This will be a great black mail photo one day...hahahaha! I now braid correctly and am a braiding fool!!! It is a okay Stef! :)

Our March madness....

March started with some hockey! Had tickets to 4 hockey games with our pass of all passes. Hockey games are so fun! I have decided I like hockey!

Within the first 2 minutes of the game there was a fight. Lots to follow after that. I think its funny that after they fight, they go in time out. So where they need to go.

Time for some RSL

First game of the season with our awesome pass of all passes! It was a late game(started @ 8p.) and it was a school night, but we dragged the kiddies with us and braved the cold for RSL! This was my attempt to get us all in a pic. My arms just arent long enough. I had no idea what those crazies were doing behind me. The other pix....hilarious!

Poor R got tired. Shes in there...look for the eye. She sure kept me warm. Its really hard to stand up and cheer when you have a sleeping child on you lap. I had to whisper yell and half stand. Ha!

Shes ready for her close up...

E was in the Jr High play. Theres nothing this girl wont do. Its so fun to see all the things she does and see her with her friends. The play was Willy Wonka. It was great! I was impressed. Heres E in one of her characters....a cook.

My Pops came...yay!! Love it when my kids get to be with him! Of course, they all talked him into getting them a treat.
I love it when I get to be with him too! I learned something new about my dad that night. So, I always have to start and finish the applause. The first and last to clap. Stef and I have this battle all the time. Kirk tries to beat me, but please. So, after the first time we were supposed to clap and everyone was supposed to stop, but me, my dad keeps clapping with me. Trying to out clap me. I was like what the??? I looked at him and we both stopped clapping because we were laughing so hard. It was choice I tell you! So this continued for the rest of the night. Stef....we got it from dad! Hilarious. Kirk laughed, but of course was not surprised. He now knows where I get my silliness from. :)Will you just look at her!! I heart her!

More soccer...yay!

Got to go to the first game of the CONCACAF(know what that stands for, but too long to type) semi final game! Woo hoo!!!! This was a big deal. RSL is the first team in MLS history to make it this far in a CONCACAF(love saying that) and they won! 3-0 if memory serves!!! Great game! RLS is awesome. The Watts brought voo voo zealas(sp?)!!

E was sick and stayed home and AT decided he needed to stay home and take care of her, so I invited my friend Susan to go with us. She dose is crazy about soccer and a former killer defense player herself.

3/11/77

So I had another birthday! Another year come and gone. Am I really STILL 25? That is crazy! ;) It was a good day. Kirk surprised me and came home from work around noon! His present to me was new running shoes(perfect), so we went looking and didnt find anything. We went out the next day and found some. Yay! Kirk also made me the YUMMIEST cheesecake in the world. Chocolate Peanutbutter with chocolate chunks in it. Stayed up late the night before making it for me. What a great hubby...knowing the way to his wifes heart...food...hahahaha! I had to wait and stare at it in th e fridge ALL DAY though waiting for everyone to get home so we could eat it. Kirk said I didnt have to, but funner to eat with company. Totally worth the wait. Then we went to Chick- fil- A(my choice) for dinner and then to a hockey game. FUN!

Some of my friends took me out for dessert the night before my bday to have, what was then my fav dessert at Mac Grill, but has now been replaced. Still oh so good though.

Hockey game. So they were handing out these posters of the Grizzlie girls as we walked in. AT and IB got them and hardly took their eyes off them the whole night. Seriously!! It was hilarious. Kirk suggested AT tape his to his ceiling so he can see it every night. Nice! Boys! Sheesh!! Yep....thumbs up. ES is too.....hmmmm....jk! :)
Totally ignore the fugly 34 year old and look at that cheesecake! My now fav dessert! First bite....OOOOOOHHHH man!! There are no words really except mmmm mmmm good!!!!!!!!!

This isnt the wild world of sports.....

Spring sports have started. E started volleyball again. She is awesome at it. ES and R have started outdoor soccer again. ES was so excited. She played indoor all through the winter, but prefers outdoor. Im with her. R told us shes not playing soccer this season for the snacks. She likes soccer now, "because, I like score the most goals." Thats a quote. Ha!

ES loves Coach Mike(kneeling by ES). He is a great coach! They only lost 1 game last season. Lets do it again Titans!! For some reason whenever I yell go Titans, it sounds like Im saying go tight ends. Haha. Those around who hear, have a nice little chuckle. :) Im funny!

To Blaaaave....

I mean.....the Blaaaaze! Another cool thing we get to see with our pass of all passes, or POAP if you will, is go to the Blaze games. It was fun. Have never been to an arena football game before. Pretty cool. Bummer that Lynette and Iza coudnt be there, but we still had good times! They won...Yay!!!!

During halftime, these guys came out. It was cool. One of the guys(I think the blurry guy in the air) on his way down from his stunt, landed wrong on the bike(like not on the seat) and really hurt himself. He was limping off pretty bad. After the show was over, before the game started again, they were cleaning up blood off the floor. Yikes. I wish they would have said if the guy was okay or not. I was worried about him for the rest of the night.

Lost in love....

And I dont know much... Went and saw Air Supply in Feb, but it was so awesome, it needed a post of its own. My friend Melanie called and asked if I like Air Supply. I said umm....YES! She said good. I have 4 tickets to see them in Wendover, do you want to go? YES again!!! Yay!!! Road trip!!!I was so excited!! I am such a cheesy love song geek and not afraid to admit it!!

Saw this on the back of a car at one of the Casinos we hit. Its PERF!!

Melanie booked the hotel a few weeks before our trip. When we pulled up to it, all we could do was laugh. So ghetto. When we checked in, Mel asked if there was a complimentary breakfast. The guy said, oh yes, there is bread and juice. We went in the morning and yep....he was right. There was for sure bread for toast and juice. We laughed and went and got breakfast at a casino.
Saw this on the ceiling in our room. Dont want to know...
Melanie thought it would be fun to dress up 80s style for the concert. So we did!!! We had quite the supply of 80s clothes too. Good times! My inspiration was the girl on Napoleon Dynamite. Ha! My outfit under the blue off the shoulder shirt(it was a sweat shirt) was a one piece outfit. Ha, but EW!!!!
AIR SUPPLY!!! Such a fun concert! They are old, but still got it! They came into the crowd for one of the songs. Melanie pulled me with her and we went down. I touched the lead singer one(the short one)! Got a pic too, but not with my camera. Bummer. After that Mel and I stayed closer to the stage and the lead singer guy pointed at us and blew us kisses multiple times! MULTIPLE TIMES I tell you for all you non believers out there! Heres a little Air Supply trivia for you...they have been based in Utah for the last 20 years and all their band members are from SLC AND they live in Park City. The 2 singers that is. Pretty cool. Me and Kristy. Love her! She is funny!
