4th celebration cont...

So every 4th our ward/neighborhood does a big parade/breakfast. We all meet at a designated house and parade around the neighborhood. Theres bikers, walkers, scooter...ers, etc. The parade ends at the park in our neighborhood where we have a huge pancake/sausage breakfast and whatever else everyone brings. Games and fun to follow. A lot of people end up wet! Good times. Like fireworks, we had the camera, but only got this pic.

On our way to meet for the parade.Warning- parents should not ride their kids bikes. The following may result. So I had to get home from the parade in a hurry, so I rode ATs bike and he was on the pegs behind me. I hit a pump, one peg fell off and AT got a nice tire burn. Oh man, I was almost in tears I felt so bad. AT reassured me he was fine and helped me feel better. What a great/brave boy! I also found out he does NOT like them called owies anymore. They are now wounds. Thats way more manly!
After the parade we went to D and Ds for lunch and some water fun. Tim and Kirk enjoying their day off.
Bean bag toss. I didnt play, but it looked fun.
Just chillin...
Americas favorite past time. Nothing like playin some baseball in your swimsuit.

Perks of being a mom....

E is in YWs now and the had a Mother/Daughter talent night. She was so excited! Okay, so was I. I love doing this kind of stuff with my girls. It was fun! For our talent, E and I sang a duet. One of our fav primary songs...A Childs Prayer. See video below(if it works?)....
E with all her YW friends.
So anyone who knows me, knows I DO NOT sing solos. I dont like to say no to people, but I will say no to those. I told E I would sing whatever song she chose with her. The one she chose has me singing a solo(of course). Said I would right... Oh the things we do for our kids.

The "Rad"nar Ragnar(long race, long post)

So, ran the Ragnar this year. Wasatch style. Started getting ready clear back in the fall of 09. I was team captain and wonderful Lynette was my c0-cap. Its a relay race of 188 miles, from Logan to Park City. You run, drive, sleep(?) and repeat from start to finish. It was June 18-19th. Im a little slow at gettingit on here. We had a great team! We were the SoleAsylum. We thought that was pretty clever. This is a crazy/fun/insane and intense race. It is the largest race in the country. The Wasatch Back is the most popular. Had 1050 teams this year compared to like 670 last year. Good times! Will so run this again! Whos in???

Bek left these on my porch Friday morning for Nat and I. How sweet and thoughtful is she! Love her! We loved them! Didnt get a pic of our group before we started, but Darci started out our legs for us. Shes got the wrist slap bracelet thingy ready to slap on Ruston.
Nat and I lookin fresh, ready and waiting to start our first legs.
Saw/ran through some beautiful parts of Utah.
Rustons first leg.
Susan(this might be out of order. Think this is her 3rd leg) My bad..

Nat...running away from the camera.
After our first legs...still lookin fresh.
Amber bringing in our fisrt set of legs. One down, two to go.
Ran our second set of legs during the night/early morning. This was an awesome exchange. Was lit up like a runway and had a DJ and music playing. Totally woke you up and got you going again.
Im the one in the reflective vest. Haha! Im waving. You had to wear reflective vests from dusk til dawn. 730pm to 7amish. Safety first.
At the main exchange before starting our 3rd legs. We all took a MUCH needed shower here(not together) :) So worth the $2. No shower has ever felt so good!!!
Only one more to go....
All the ladies. Dont let Amber fool you. She is no Angel. ;)
Just chillin waiting for Darci.
Darci handing off to Ruston. And Darci is done!
Waiting to assist Ruston on his run. Lucky Ruston eh? ;) Oh silly Amber!

Susan just finishing the 2nd hardest leg of the race and handing to me, just starting the HARDEST leg of the race. The Ragnar. I was tryign to tell myself it wasnt as hard as everyone was saying, but... ha! It was! Oh man, so intense and crazy! 4 miles of running 95% uphill, in the heat of the day, going on almost 32 hours of no sleep. Feeling good. Feeling ready. NOT! I did it though! Only cried and threw up once. Haha...Jk! Wanted to run more than walk. Did that too! There were a few really tuff parts and right when I wanted to give up, Eye of the Tiger came on my iPod and helped me through it. Next time it got tuff...Rocky theme song. Perfect timing!

Think I only had a mile left to go. Trying to look happy for the camera. Kept telling myself, Eye of the Tiger!
Cant see Susans eyes, but mine and Nats say TIRED! Riding a gondola to the Canyons where the finish line was, to wait for Amber and meet the rest of our team to cross the finish line all together!
Sweet medal and Tshirt, and going home now!!
Look at those Wasatch Backs! That what Kirk said when he took this pic. Funny guy!
The whole SoleAsylum!! Way to go everyone! Way to run! Did it in 33 hours and 40 something mins and whatever seconds(dont remember exacts.) Thanks for running!!!

Summer funnin!

So with Nat in town(for the Ragnar) and not a lot of time for her to visit with Stef and Bek and kiddies, we crammed in as much fun stuff as we could. Thursday after Nat got here, we took the kiddies down to the Gateway for some water fun and to meet Stef for lunch. It was good times! The kids had a blast and us lame-o adults(who didnt want to get wet) had fun watching. JC(hes 15 1/2) said to me as we were walking to the food court that he couldnt believe he was there walking and hanging out with us. How embarrassing. Oh silly JC. I said...NOT! We are the coolest Aunts in the whole world! Im pretty sure he agreed! :) E is missing because she had other plans that were better I guess. I let her chose for herself what she wanted to do. The girl is 12 and already turning into a teenager.

Just finishing up lunch. Have to put Bek and Stef in the shade. They are your typical red heads. Weve got skin cancer in the fam, so dont want them getting it, though Im pretty sure we all have it already and just dont know it. Knock on wood... Garrick joined us for lunch. Yay for Uncle G!!
Oh what a cutie/a lot of other things...Hahaha!!
Just thought this was a fun pic of everyone enjoying the show. Especially Stef. Ha ;)
The finale of the water show. Its synchronized to music. Fun!
One of these kids...:)
Feeling the steam.
Think de Janeiro got it in the face. It was funny. She was laughing so we laughed. Actually cant help but laugh.
We told them all not to get to wet. Well....I think they listened. And yes...de Janeiro is doing her infamous bum slapping. Proud parent moment.
